October 11, 2016: Yom Kippur
October 18, 2016 06:32 AM PDTBiblically known as Yom Hakippurim which is actually day of atonements. Or yom ke-purim “a day like Purim” a day of deliverance and salvation Leviticus 16:33 And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation. Remember the 1st Yom Kippur? Moses was up in the mount for 40 days trying to make atonement for the nation of Israel after the golden calf incident. Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. Hasatan literally translated as “the accuser or the adversary” satan is the prosecuting angel who is always hard at work pointing out your flaws. But one day a year he is rendered speechless. Yom Kippur. In Hebrew hasatan השטן = 364 which is one less than the total of days in a year for on Yom Kippur he is incapable of carrying out his mission! Let’s look at the special readings for this day: Numbers 29:7,8 And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein: But ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD for a sweet savour; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish: ... October 18, 2016 06:16 AM PDTLeviticus 23:33-39 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of booths for seven days to the LORD. On the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no regular work. Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly; you shall do no regular work. “‘These are the appointed feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meal offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, each on its own day; besides the Sabbaths of the LORD, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings, which you give to the LORD. “‘So on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you shall keep the feast of the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. Deuteronomy 16:13-15 You shall observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that you have gathered in your corn and your wine: And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within your gates. Seven days shall you keep a solemn feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice. ... October 18, 2016 06:01 AM PDTDeuteronomy 31:30 And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended. Revelation 15:3,4 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest. Deuteronomy 32:1 Give ear, O you heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Revelations 13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. ... October 10, 2016 10:33 AM PDTDeuteronomy 31:1,2 And Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel. And he said to them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day. Deuteronomy 31:10-12 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD your God in the place which he shall choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and your stranger that is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and to do all the words of this law: Deuteronomy 31:19-22 “Now therefore write this song and teach it to the people of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the people of Israel. For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant. And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as a witness (for it will live unforgotten in the mouths of their offspring). For I know what they are inclined to do even today, before I have brought them into the land that I swore to give.” So Moses wrote this song the same day and taught it to the people of Israel. Deuteronomy 31:28-30 Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. And Moses spoke in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended. This song is next weeks Torah portion. Joel 2:15 Blow the shofar in Zion! Sanctify a fast. Call a solemn assembly. Joel 2:23 “Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD, your God; for he gives you the former rain in just measure, and he causes the rain to come down for you, the former rain and the latter rain, as before. October 04, 2016 06:54 AM PDTL’shanah Tova! Have a good year! Rosh Hashanah is an annual re-coronation of God as the King of the world. The central observance of Rosh Hashanah is the sounding of the shofar, representing that the king is coming! Anyone excited about the return of the king?!! Also the cry of the shofar is the call to repentance. What you experience tonight will impact your lives through all of next year. Numbers 10:2,3 “Make two silver trumpets for yourself, make them of beaten work. And you shall use them for calling the congregation and for breaking camp.“ And when they blow both of them, all the congregation shall meet before you at the door of the Tent of Meeting. Joel 2:1,2 Blow the shofar in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the LORD comes, for it is close at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. As the dawn spreading on the mountains, a great and strong people; there has never been the like, neither will there be any more after them, even to the years of many generations. October 04, 2016 06:20 AM PDTDeuteronomy 29:10-15 You stand today, all of you, before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, all the men of Israel, your little ones, your wives, and your stranger that is in your camp, from the cutter of your wood to the drawer of your water; so that you should enter into covenant with the LORD your God, and into His oath, which the LORD your God makes you today; that He may establish you today for a people to Himself, and that He may be a God to you, as He has said to you, and as He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Nor do I make this covenant and this oath with you only, but with him who stands here with us today before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us today. Hebrew 3:7-9 Wherefore, even as the Holy Spirit saith, Today if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tried me by proving me, And saw my works forty years. Deuteronomy 29:24-28 Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger? Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them: And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book: And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day. ... September 26, 2016 06:05 AM PDTDeuteronomy 26:1,2 And it shall be, when you come into the land which the LORD you God gives you for an inheritance, and possess it, and live in it, you shall take of the first of all the fruit of the earth which you shall bring of your land that the LORD your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket, and shall go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose to place His name there. After working on his field for an entire season, day in and day out, a farmer could very well feel that the success of his crops belongs wholly to his hard work, rather than as a result of any assistance from God. Instead, the farmer declares his understanding that G-d is not only the driver at the helm of history, but also the source of his own personal bounty. Deuteronomy 26:3,4 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us. And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God. ... The Ruach HaKadosh (Holy Spirit) gently but firmly persuaded us to provide a place where people would come to celebrate a relationship with Abba--Father on a journey to Torah observance. We chose El Shaddai as the name for our Ministries because there is no doubt He is the GREAT and MIGHTY GOD. Our assembly is made up of people from all faiths and walks of life; we have grown to over 400 people, with over 40,000 listening in from around the world and close to a million hits at the website every month. He has made taking Torah to the Nations possible.
El Shaddai Ministries is a Hebraic Roots Resource faithful to salvation through Yeshua (Jesus), the Lamb! "The Hebraic Roots movement is many things, but one of its key elements is the work to restore the lost Hebraic nature of scripture faith to Christians. Sometimes this is called returning to our Jewish roots, and so it is in part, but it is more. The Most High gave an eternal style to our ancient faith that would be unmistakable in the world as belonging to Him. His people were to be His own and be a chosen people, a kingdom of priests, a holy nation. One of the worst things that could happen to the people of Adonai is to assimilate into the world's fashion: to think like the world thinks and to follow the world's lead. Our purpose is to lead the world to worship and obey the Almighty. With such a task before us we must be assimilation proof. We must reflect the show that we have something different and better to offer the world. Please join us in the effort to remain a holy, unique people for the glory of Elohim. Let us together peaceably fight the good fight against assimilation by this evil world system. Thank you and shalom." (reprinted by permission from Messianic.com)
